Billing Information
If an anesthesia quote for services is needed:
Contact your surgeon’s office to obtain the CPT code(s) for your upcoming procedure and the estimated length of surgery:
-
- Your surgeon may also request a post-operative pain block to assist with recovery. This procedure is performed by the anesthesia team and may result in additional charges.
Understanding Your Anesthesia Bill
Medical billing can be confusing. Here’s a simple breakdown of what to expect regarding charges for your anesthesia services:
Two Types of Anesthesia Charges
- Professional Charge – This is the professional fee for the anesthesia team. You will receive this bill, after your insurance processes, from MAK Anesthesia Holdings, MAK Anesthesia Georgia, or Fortis.
- Facility Charge – This charge is sent from the hospital or surgical facility and covers the use of equipment and supplies.
Quote Request
To request an estimate, please contact our billing department at billing@makanesthesia.com or call 770-702-1806, option 2, and be prepared to provide the CPT code(s) and estimated surgery time.
This information can be received from your surgeon’s office.
After Your Procedure – Insurance Processing
Please note: This is not a bill.
The EOB outlines how your insurance is processing the claim, but the final bill may differ once all adjustments are made.
- MAK Anesthesia will submit a claim to your insurance provider. It is imperative that current insurance information is provided at your surgical facility.
- Your insurance company will send you an Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
- After your insurance processes your claim, any remaining balance is the patient’s responsibility. You will be sent a bill for the remaining balance approximately four weeks after your procedure from MAK Anesthesia Holdings, MAK Anesthesia Georgia, or Fortis.
- The hospital or facility will send a separate bill for the facility charges.
